Sustainability in our own operations: noventic joins the Hamburg Environmental Partnership

Combining climate action with sound business practice is a key task for companies – both in their own operations and in developing future-ready products and business models. noventic has been pursuing this approach in the building sector for many years. By joining the Hamburg Environmental Partnership, our voluntary environmental commitment at our Hamburg site is now also being recognised.

In the building sector, the aim is to use energy more efficiently, make consumption transparent and reduce CO₂ emissions – while finding solutions that are economically viable. However, this approach does not end with our products or our customers. For us, sustainable business also means considering the environmental impact of our own operations.

This is precisely where the Hamburg Environmental Partnership comes in. Since 2026, we have been an active partner and part of a Hamburg-based business network for voluntary corporate environmental and climate action.

noventic is an Environmental Partner in Hamburg for 2026–2028. Our voluntary environmental measures in the areas of mobility, green roofing and renewable electricity have been recognised.

Voluntary environmental action as part of sustainable business

The Hamburg Environmental Partnership was established in 2003 and brings together business, policymakers and public administration. It is supported by the Hamburg Senate together with the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, the Hamburg Chamber of Skilled Crafts and business associations. Companies admitted as active Environmental Partners implement voluntary environmental measures at their Hamburg sites.

A central principle of the initiative is to combine environmental protection with economic success. Corporate measures are intended to reduce pressure on resources and the climate while also helping businesses operate efficiently and remain fit for the future.

This reflects a principle that is also fundamental to our approach: environmental and economic requirements need to be considered together.

From green roofing to sustainable mobility

Three specific environmental measures at our Hamburg site were recognised as part of our admission to the Hamburg Environmental Partnership: corporate mobility, green roofing and renewable electricity.

By promoting cycling, we are addressing the mobility of our employees. Our green roof contributes to biodiversity and helps adapt to the effects of climate change. And by using renewable electricity, we are also incorporating our energy requirements into our corporate environmental activities.

These measures address different areas but follow the same principle: advancing environmental and climate action wherever we have practical opportunities to do so in our day-to-day operations.

Sustainability starts on our own doorstep

For us, joining the Hamburg Environmental Partnership forms part of a broader context. Through our Group-wide sustainability strategy, we aim to systematically embed sustainability across our business areas and activities. One focus is on reducing our own environmental impact.

Combining climate action and economic viability

At the same time, a significant lever lies where our products and services have an impact: in the building sector. As a pioneer of climate-intelligent buildings, we aim to help reduce energy consumption, optimise the energy supply of buildings and use resources more efficiently. Climate action, economic viability and residential comfort are all part of the equation.

Smart Heating

What applies to our solutions for the housing and real estate sector is equally relevant to our own operations: environmental impact and economic viability need to be considered together. Alongside our annual German Sustainability Code reports, the Hamburg Environmental Partnership now makes part of this commitment more visible externally.

Both recognition and motivation

The Hamburg Environmental Partnership recognises the measures we are already implementing at our site. At the same time, it motivates us to continue along this path and identify areas where further tangible improvements can be made.
