Interoperable and technology-open networking: secure communication in the apartment building

Energy supply in apartment buildings is becoming increasingly complex in technical terms. Interoperable infrastructures are therefore essential to securely network the variety of current and future applications.

Through our stable wireless infrastructure – based on long-range radio standards – we can centrally integrate interoperable, open systems such as our smart thermostat control. Third-party IoT applications can also be included.

Autonomous in the swarm: one thermostat, two modes

Smart thermostat control was developed for building-wide installation in a housing industry context.

Therefore, after installation, thermostats start in so-called "Assist Mode": Without relying on cloud logic, they simultaneously ensure energy savings and living comfort. This means all households in the apartment building are part of smart thermostat control, whether "digital native" or "digitally distant".

Building on this, each household can voluntarily and free of charge activate their own access to the tenant app. We have summarised the resulting benefits for households under the "Apartment" tab.

Assist Mode

  • Building: Basis for adaptive hydraulic balancing*The effectiveness of our hydraulic balancing has been tested and certified by TÜV Rheinland. (analogous to Method B of the ZVSHK)
  • Radiator: Assistance functions for saving energy without data exchange between thermostat and cloud

App Mode (in addition to Assist Mode)

  • Remote control for tenant households
  • Room-specific customisation of heating routines
  • Full consumption transparency plus information and tips for optimal indoor climate

Our modular IoT platform offers interoperable system integration of housing industry solutions: for tenant changeover processes, vacancy management or defining building-wide temperature parameters.
